To what extent is there less aggressive development in Ras Al Khaimah compared to the other Emirates?

Ras Al Khaimah is following its own path, though it is extremely aggressive in terms of its own level of development. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are busy with construction and have many projects going on leading up to Expo 2020. Ras Al Khaimah does not have the same size or turnover of projects; however, its construction sector is stronger than it was before. Furthermore, Ras Al Khaimah still has a great deal of land available.

To what extent is green building a priority in Ras Al Khaimah?

The green building concept arrived here recently. The Environment Protection and Development was set up and has started to be more active in the last five years with the UAE laws for the environment. People are starting to acquire this knowledge and become more aware of green concepts here now. However, the green mentality still has to be developed. Locally, RAK Chamber is talking about green initiatives with the leadership and authorities of the Emirate. Environmental protection is one of Ras Al Khaimah's targets, though people, investors, and the increased costs significantly hamper the growth of green development.
