PRESS RELEASE

TBY partners with the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology (COMCE)

TBY recently signed an MoU with the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment, and Technology (COMCE) on September 27 to cooperate on the publication of The Business Year: Mexico 2018, the seventh edition of the publication in the country.

The MoU was signed by Fernando Ruiz Huarte, CEO of COMCE, and Giulia Di Loreto, TBY Country Manager for Mexico.

“COMCE’s goal is to bring the best of Mexico to the world and to attract the best of the world to Mexico. Our partnership with TBY will help us achieve this goal,” commented Mr. Ruiz Huarte on the partnership. Di Loreto, meanwhile, added, “With the ongoing renegotiations with NAFTA and Mexico’s goal of diversifying its foreign trade, our new partnership with COMCE will be vital for our coverage of these key issues.”

The MoU comes after the interview with Mr. Ruiz Huarte, who reinforced the need to modernize NAFTA. He commented, “We need to consider new topics that were not taken into account back in the 1990s in order to modernize the deal. For example, e-commerce, green energy, among others.”

The Business Year: Mexico 2018 will extensively cover the impact of NAFTA renegotiations, as well as the successes and challenges of the country’s strategy to diversify and strengthen its trade partners within the recently signed TPP, the Pacific Alliance’s Trade Agreement and the 46 other trade agreements Mexico has signed to date.

The Business Year: Mexico 2018 will be published in mid-2018 and will feature over 150 face-to-face interviews with the top private sector executives and public officials in the Mexican economy.
