TBY partners with Deloitte
Azerbaijan, April 27, 2011—Leading international business and consultancy company The Business Year (TBY) and Deloitte have signed a partnership agreement that will enhance TBY’s business intelligence coverage on Azerbaijan by employing the expertise of Deloitte in the accountancy and tax fields. The agreement was signed in Baku by Mr. Nuran Kerimov, Partner in Charge of Tax and Legal Practice at Deloitte Azerbaijan, and Ms. Betul Çakaloglu, Country Director for TBY.
“I am very happy to promote investment opportunities in Azerbaijan through such a comprehensive study targeted at a worldwide readership. I believe this study will increase the visibility of Azerbaijan in international business circles and show that it has a lot to offer global investors,” said Mr. Kerimov at the signing ceremony. Ms. Çakaloglu expressed her pleasure to work in Azerbaijan. According to her, it will be a leading economic center of the Caucasus and Caspian regions in the new decade as a result of the government’s successful reform policies and increasing international investor appetite.
Under the partnership arrangement, Deloitte will provide their well-known expertise to TBY on tax and accountancy regulatory issues in Azerbaijan so that TBY analysts can provide their readers with the most accurate information regarding the investment climate in Azerbaijan.
Throughout the course of preparing The Business Year: Azerbaijan 2011, the TBY team will conduct more than 200 face-to-face interviews with Azerbaijan’s top decision makers in order to better understand and more accurately reflect the country’s business sentiment. The research will be published internationally and will be one of the most comprehensive reviews of the Azerbaijani economy ever. The target readership of the publication includes top executives, policy makers, and media representatives from all around the world.
The initial demand for The Business Year: Azerbaijan 2011 reflects the deficit of business information on Azerbaijan. Although the publication is to be released in the second half of 2011, more than 80,000 copies have already been preordered.
