TBY partners with CEI-RD

Dominican Republic, April 17, 2012—Leading international business and consultancy company The Business Year (TBY) and the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD) have signed a partnership agreement to publish The Business Year: Dominican Republic 2013, the first edition in the country. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Santo Domingo by Mr. Eddy Martínez, Secretary of State and Executive Director of the CEI-RD, and Ms. Peggy Rosiak, Regional Director of TBY.

On April 17, 2012, executives from TBY and the CEI-RD met in Santo Domingo to sign the MoU, which marks the official launch of TBY’s first macroeconomic research project in the Dominican Republic. “This partnership agreement is a step forward in the right direction to project the Dominican Republic as the best nation to do business in the Caribbean Region,” said Mr. Eddy Martínez at the signing ceremony. Ms. Peggy Rosiak expressed her pleasure to be a part of TBY’s first project in the Dominican Republic, and stated that, “We are very excited about The Business Year: Dominican Republic 2011. Against the backdrop of increased investor appetite for the Dominican Republic, the first edition will provide leaders from the country’s private and public sectors the opportunity to highlight their experiences and future plans, as well as reveal business opportunities in the country.”

The Business Year: Dominican Republic 2013 will present a thorough and up-to-date analysis of the latest economic developments in the Dominican Republic and feature interviews with a number of high-profile leaders from both the public and private sectors. According to the partnership arrangement, The Business Year team will spend five to six months in the Dominican Republic to conduct field research, focusing on all the major sectors of the country’s economy including finance, industry, energy, ICT, transport, real estate and construction, health and education, as well as tourism and agriculture. The TBY team will conduct more than 120 face-to-face interviews with the Dominican Republic’s top decision makers to better understand and more accurately reflect the country’s business sentiment.
