ZERO POLLUTION

Panama 2018 | ENERGY | COLUMN

TBY talks to Juan Giménez Rueda, General Manager of Premium Oil, on on the energy sector.

Could you tell us a little about the company's evolution, achievements, and challenges?

The company was established in 2005. Initially, our warehouses and offices were situated in different areas, but even offices are now within our warehouses. We have also expanded geographically and set up new offices in Chitré city, hence we cover the central area of Panama. Later, we set up offices in David-Chiriquí, which covers northern Panama and the areas close to the border with Costa Rica, where we also operate.

The company's production facilities are in the US and Switzerland. How does this work?

This is an interesting topic. The majority of our linked factories where the products are made are in the US and Spain; only one is in Switzerland. Our Swiss partner is a world pioneer in terms of biodegradable lubricating oils. We are starting to work on the lubricant collection and both liquid and solid lubricant recycling. We are trying to instruct our clients about the national legal regulations and help them regarding lubricant collection. We also provide workshops, not only about lubrication and oiling, but also about recycling and 'zero pollution' of the environment. This has been our central issue over the past two years.
