What was the idea behind your take over of the investment-banking arm of Visor Holding in 2016? The idea was to recreate an investment bank that would operate with proper western business and execution standards and be a reliable partner for international counterparts wishing to invest or do business in Kazakhstan. We want to build an institution that will have public trust and will be systematic, resilient, self developing, innovative, and, perhaps at one point, referred to as the Goldman Sachs or Lazard of Central Asia. We will be the go-to agent between Central Asian companies and the international investment community. We intend to develop as a merchant bank, acting in both advisor and principal capacities. We have raised several mutual funds last year that invest in developed capital markets. As we better our track record, we hope to set up several funds that will invest back into Kazakhstan. What are your key objectives for 2018? We will aim to raise at least USD50 million for our mutual funds. We also plan to have underwritten at least three or four significant bond issues for international financial institutions. We are also working on several asset management solutions for retail customers.
