Qatar has withstood numerous external shocks in recent years, from oil price fluctuation to a breakdown of inter-GCC relations. So while COVID-19 will leave its mark, Qatar is better prepared than many thanks to the successes it has seen in developing self-sufficiency—if anything, the latest crisis has only exacerbated the urgency to accomplish the goals associated with the 2030 Qatar National Vision.
