General Manager, Contraco
Contraco is a local grade “A“ main contractor established over 50 years ago and has been in the construction business since 1990. During this time, we have contributed to the development of infrastructure across a wide range of sectors. In regard to commercial developments, we built the first mall in Qatar, which has now been transformed into a ministerial building, as well as the Royal Plaza Mall. In the healthcare industry, we built the first private hospital in Qatar, Al Ahli Hospital. As a result of our joint venture with Austria’s Vamid Engineering, we were able to deliver the hospital ready to be opened, with all the medical equipment and even the training for the client’s employees. When it comes to sport facilities, we completed two football stadiums, each with a capacity of 25,000 people, and two multipurpose sport halls with capacity for 3,500 spectators. In 1996, we completed the Qatar Foundation’s first project, which was a senior school. We also built the Liberal Arts & Science Building in partnership with a local contractor.

Hassanesco was established in 1976 in Qatar as a grade-A contractor. We have experience in residential and commercial construction for both private and government clients. Projects like commercial and residential high-rises, administrative compounds, and private upscale housing and villas are in our portfolio, although we also have a wide expertise in schools and training facilities. The population of Qatar will certainly increase in the long term, especially with the 2022 FIFA World Cup. We are a key player in the development of infrastructure in the country. In this regard, we established our own material supply lines and support structures. We have two ready-mix concrete plants, a cement block factory, and fabrication shops for both carpentry and aluminum materials. Besides the construction market, we have other divisions that complement our portfolio, such as travel agency services, wood trading, infrastructure management, and a car service center.
