Elhadi Hassan

How do you assess the contribution of Moorfields Eye Hospital to the healthcare sector in Dubai?

As one of the first healthcare organizations to lay our footprint in Dubai Healthcare City, we have supported the Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) in shaping the direction that Dubai is moving in. Moorfields Dubai is the first National Health Service (NHS) model that established our successful branch and have been successful in the UAE over the last 10 years. We help shape the growth and development of the healthcare market in Dubai, not only from a private standpoint but also in working with the government on PPPs to raise the standard of care throughout. Until we opened our joint venture in Abu Dhabi in 2016, we were the first and only branch of Moorfields that was established outside the UK in over 200 years. Moreover, we set the standard in quality and clinical governance, a standard we have exceeded every year. Moorfields is the only specialized hospital with the full range of ophthalmology services. Hence, we attract not only people from the UAE but also from all around the world, and have become a link to Dubai in medical tourism.
