OĞUZ PARDÜN

FIRST & FOREMOST

Ericsson brought the first GPRS network to Azerbaijan, as well as the first pre-paid system. Also, we have contributed to developing LTE technology for commercial purposes in this country.

THAT’S WHY

We believe Azerbaijan is a leader in its region due to its economic power. That’s why we were the first Western telecoms company to enter this market. Azerbaijan changed after 2007, and now you can see many different sectors growing at a rapid pace.

SERVICES LIST

Ericsson provides all types of services to its customers; we respond to customer needs, and have the solutions customers want, whether it’s 2G, 3G, or LTE. Ericsson also works as a systems integrator for companies.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

NSN started with just one main customer, Azerfon. We have cooperated with Azerfon very closely from the beginning as we delivered a complete turnkey GSM network to Azerfon in 2006 and 2007. Today, we are carrying out a huge modernization of its 2G/3G network, preparing its network for future LTE services.

AFFORDABILITY

In Azerbaijan, the mobile communication market is driven by the availability of affordable handsets. Both smartphones and tablet PCs are finally coming into the market in large numbers.

TRENDS

Operators need to reduce their operational expenditures by outsourcing part or even all of their operations to global service providers like NSN. Being a world leader in services with more that 36,000 professionals in 150 countries worldwide, our company knows very well how operational synergies will help operators to stay competitive.

LEVENT ÖZBİLGİN

ONE OF THE FIRST

Alcatel-Lucent was one of the first international IT companies to start operating and investing in Azerbaijan. Back in the 1990s we started building the telecommunication network for the young republic along with the Ministry of Communications and IT, and since then we have been growing in our operations and services.

GROWING PENETRATION

Fixed-line broadband is expanding quite rapidly and Alcatel-Lucent is proud of being part of that expansion; we are one of the major providers of DSL technology and infrastructure. There has been a very significant growth in that market.

IMPORTANT CUSTOMERS

Our largest customers in the private telecommunications sector are Bakcell and Delta Telecom. We also have enterprise customers, such as hotels and conference centers, which we manage through our local channels. In the vertical sector, BP is also one of our important customers.
